August 13, 2020 – 2 Thessalonians 3:3-5

But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord about you, that you are doing and will do the things that we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. 2 Thessalonians 3:3-5.

When did you understand God’s Faithfulness? It begins early, and needing a ‘night-light’, before you knew about John 8:12. “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

For truly Jesus brightens the corners of fear in our hearts because we have confidence in the Lord.  Apostle Paul faced death often, but he understood that Jesus is the truth and the life.  He wrote,  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21.

We admire heroes who conquer enemies.  Sin is our enemy.  We fear dying.  Jesus conquered the power of sin and death when He died on the cross and arose from the grave.

Dear Father God, help us choose Jesus, the One was tempted, and said, Get behind me, Satan! The Jesus who is all-powerful, and teaches us to love others as Jesus loves us.  The Jesus who died as a sacrifice for our sins, and teaches us to forgive others as He forgives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

When we choose to follow Jesus, He will direct our hearts to His steadfast love and gives us peace. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.  John 14:27.

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.  2 Thessalonians 3:16
