August 11, 2017 – Psalm 56:3-4

But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you, I praise God for what he has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:3-4.

When does the feeling of fear over take us and angst overtakes our minds?  What ‘might be’ is the front step into the house of fear. Fear tends to eclipse and block out our trust and faith in God.  Fear darkens our walk with God and confuses our sense of direction and ability to walk in His Light.

Fear causes  doubt  of others and  self and blots out the confidence that is ours through Jesus Christ. Fear is like riding a perpetual merry go round with no music and no exits.

Is a bird afraid of heights?  Or does a bird doubt his ability to fly?  So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.  Matthew 10:31.  How much does God love you?  More than a a flock of sparrows!  He loves us so much, He knows the number of hairs on our head.  He keeps track of our sorrows.  He collects all of our tears in His bottle, He writes each one in his book.  When we call to Him for help, our enemies retreat.

He sent Jesus to give us a pathway to His Glory.  A pathway lighted by forgiveness because of His Great love.  Read the last phrase of the scripture — This I know, God is on my side! When fear strikes and entices us, remember this one verse from Philippians 4:13 – For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strengthFight Fear through Trusting Jesus!

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side! Psalm 56:8-9
