April 8, 2016 – Philemon 1:6-8

Philemon1-6-8And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.  Philemon 1:6-8This morning I heard a voice reading from Psalm 42:1-2 –  As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God,  for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?  And from Matthew 5:6 –“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” The World markets try to sell us tangible goods that appeal to the eye and the palate, when we really long to satisfy ourselves with the living water and the bread of life that does not cost and is a gift from Jesus Christ himself.  God satisfies that need for the eternity He placed in man’s heart. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart – Ecclesiastes 3:11aUntil we learn to love like Jesus, we will never find his grace, gift of eternal comfort with a wonderful hope beyond measure.  When we trust Him, he gives us the strength to follow Him.  This is measured in the good things we do and say.  Careless, hurtful words and deeds spoken and committed in anger are not of Father God and His Son.  Ever.  The language of love and the language of kind deeds are of God.Follow Jesus in a life of adoration of Him.  This good life brings back the joy of living and we are wholly satisfied in Jesus. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.  2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
