April 5, 2018 – Mark 8:27-28

Jesus and his disciples left Galilee and went up to the villages near Caesarea Philippi. As they were walking along, he asked them, “Who do people say I am?” “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other prophets.” Mark 8:27-28.

The scriptures tell us many things about Jesus.  They tell how He loves, they tell what he thinks of sin, and most of all, Jesus tells us Who He is.  The following verses declare the identity of Jesus.  He can be your identity if you believe…

Jesus replied, I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.  But you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me. John 8:35-36.

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12.

Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I am!” John 8:58.

I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me,  just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.  John 10:14-15.

Jesus told her, I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. John 11:25.

Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27.

“Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say you are one of the other prophets.” Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Mark 8:28-29.
