April 29, 2015 – Daniel 2:23

Daniel2-23To you, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, for you have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of you, for you have made known to us the king’s matter. Daniel 2:23Daniel knew what is often so difficult for us.  He knew where his strength lay.  In his knowledge and understanding of the Lord God, his Yahweh, Daniel knew most humbly that all he achieved, all that he spoke were straight from God.Is it any wonder that God loved Daniel, and closed the mouths of lions, protected him before the King Nebuchadnezzar.  Though Daniel was taken captive, his life was not ended.  Though his name was changed, though he lived in a different place, though he was threatened with death because he stayed true to God, he was used by God.  He made his heart available to God.And God gave Daniel favor and compassion in the sight of the chief of the eunuchs.  Daniel 1:9.  Daniel did not take advantage of the favor, but used it for God’s leading.Psalm 1:3 contains Daniel’s secret.  His delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.  God can not be placed into a box to take out when we are ready to give him a bit of attention.  A relationship with each of us is what God desires.  Moment by moment, 24/7, He is with us.  He is our friend, He loves us, He delights in us.He waits for us — He loves us with a love like no other.  He abhors wickedness and evil in any form. It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High. Psalm 92:1Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-3
