“Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore.” Isaiah 65:17This isn’t fantasy, or just a story, but is God’s reality for His Children, the Children of Light.Have you ever thought what Heaven will be like? My Grandmother did. One of my early memories is watching her rock in her chair on the front porch, singing, Shall We Gather at the River… the beautiful, the beautiful River… She longed for Heaven with all her being. She had a difficult life, immigrating here from another country when she was 16 years old. Married, raised 5 children to adulthood. She lost the 6th child. Her husband, my grandfather, traveled and preached. So she often was left alone on the farm with her children. She never complained. Nor did she complain when her husband became paralyzed and confined to his bed. She cared for him until his death. Now both have left this earth and are enjoying being in the Lord’s Presence. What is heaven like? Can you imagine a wolf and a lamb eating together? Can you imagine a lion eating hay like a cow? Can you imagine a snake eating dust?On this earth we all have ‘boo-boos’ or ‘owies’ even grow-ups. In Heaven, no one will hurt. There is not one bandaid in heaven! There is no reason to be afraid of death. For no one dies in heaven. How do we know? “I, the Lord, said so!“ I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:3-5.Can you imagine Heaven? No, neither can I? All I know is that if God created the earth we live in, what will the new Heaven and Earth look like? Glorious. The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat hay like a cow. But the snakes will eat dust. In those days no one will be hurt or destroyed on my holy mountain. I, the Lord, have spoken!” Isaiah 65:25
