April 26, 2019 – John 12:27-28
“Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose, I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” John 12:27-28.
Each time I hear thunder coming from the sky, I think of our Lord God. It gives me reassurance.
How blessed it is to know read these verses from John 12. It tells several things. Jesus left Heaven to bring glory to His Father in Heaven. Jesus knows He came to earth to make a way for our sins to be forgiven. In doing the will of His Father, His sacrificial death on the cross made a way for our sins to be forgiven and to live Him. Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28.
True worship is every day, and giving our lives completely to God. This will glorify our Lord. When our prayer each day is this verse from Psalm 51:10, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me, we glorify Him and worship, yielding our will to Him.
Feeding on His Word, moment by moment, gives us sustenance to live through the heartaches of the world. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14.
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Psalm 119:103.
The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine.” John 12:29-30.
