April 24, 2018 – Ephesians 4:1-3
Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. Ephesians 4:1-3.
The Apostle Paul, a prisoner for serving the Lord, tells us to lead a life worthy of our calling. Our calling in Christ Jesus. Yes, our Lord God is calling us to to be humble and gentle. There is no room in God’s Kingdom for competition, just as no flowers vie in a beauty pageant for the most beautiful flower. They just bloom, and in Christ we are gentle and kind.
Our love through Christ Jesus gives us the spirit of patience and forgiveness, overlooking each others’ faults. For then, we are united in Christ Jesus. Unity can not be legislated. It is when we are one in the hope and glory of Jesus, we are united in this world.
Unity is in the Oneness of Christ Jesus. In the following two verses – ONE is the prominent word. The world will tell us there are many gods, and many ways to reach Him. There is One body, One Spirit, One Hope for the future. There is One Lord, One faith, One baptism, One God and Father of all, Who is over, in and living through all.
There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12
For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all. Ephesians 4: 4-6.
