April 23, 2015 – Psalm 148:7-9
Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps, fire and hail, snow and mist, stormy wind fulfilling his word! Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars! Psalm 148:7-9The sweeping, swirling wind dances in the sky praising God with all its might. Water bends, cools and warms. It becomes gentle rain, frozen hail or cleansing snow, all in obedience to our Creator. All creatures above or below the earth knows its Maker and praises Him. The majestic mountains lift their lofty peaks to praise God. The poet, Joyce Kilmer, captured the worship of trees to God through her words –I think that I shall never see, A poem lovely as a tree. A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed…Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast; A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray…The ocean waves rise and fall in a rhythm ordained by God, creating thunderous praise. The waves hold nothing back. Volcanic mountains spew out fire as an offering to God. Our world does not have a status quo, for it is in a continuous flux of praise and obedience to Yahweh. The mystery of salvation is accomplished in believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God –Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. John 20:30-31.Just as no one can trace the genesis and the path of the wind, so it is when we are born again and receive the Holy Spirit. Our path belongs to God and we know the hope and the joy and the leading of the Holy Spirit in our lives.God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24.We lift our hearts and our will to you, Oh, LORD God. We worship and praise you. Lead me, guide me with your Holy Spirit to seek you with my whole heart, mind and soul. I love you, Oh, Lord! I believe! In Jesus’ Name, AmenDo not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:7-8
