April 20, 2020 – Ephesians 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. Ephesians 1:3-4.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. Genesis 1:2.  In this beginning, God chose us. My Aunt Irene shared my Grandfather often prayed for me before I was born and those ‘who come after’ – In Plautt Dietch this is “Nach Kommen!”

God prepared us for adoption through His Son, Jesus Christ, before the foundation of the world was created.  Nothing is too big for God.  He plans ahead. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. I Corinthians 1:9.

God gives us the Way to be His. Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6.

Believe and love.  God first loved us, and made a way for us. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.

In love He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth. Ephesians 1: 5-10.
