April 17, 2015 – Colossians 3:17

Colossians3-17And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.  Colossians 3:17The ‘on and on’ cleaning, cooking, caring for a family becomes mountain of deja vu.  When the ‘me of self’ becomes more important than the relationship with Jesus, we forget the joy of doing.  We forget the Presence of Jesus is constant and our purpose for living.  A young mother and father lose sleep in caring for their newborn losing that first joy of parenthood.  A care-giver becomes tired and weary caring for a loved one.  The father leaves home each day to labor to provide for his family.  The only way to pull out of that ‘poor me’ attitude is to acknowledge the Presence of our Lord and Savior and revel in the hope He gives us every day.  It is giving ‘cups of water’ with joy in the name of Jesus that keeps us steadfast. When we place our trust in Jesus, we are not satisfied with the world, but look for things above.  We set and re-set our minds, moment by moment, on Jesus.  We live in the world but we are not of the world.  Oh, the joy in our life when it is hidden in Christ Jesus. We are citizens of Heaven and sojourners through this life.  When Jesus Christ comes again, we will appear with Him in glory.  It all begins with…I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of living God.If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.  For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
