April 1, 2020 – Psalm 34:1-3

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together! Psalm 34:1-3.

Bless the Lord at all times!  Is that possible? Yes, especially during this season. Watching the spring flowers bloom and new leaves of growth bringing joy, the sun coming into view at dawn. I praise Him and tell Him of my delight. A squirrel bounds up a tree and a bird swoops by. And a song bird sings the melody God wrote for him.  God reaches His Hand to me and I am glad.

Then I read His Word, “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:3-4. The words of the old hymn sing from my heart, And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and tells me I am His own!

No quarantine is so binding, it can exclude my Lord.  I am not alone, Jesus hears me and knows my heart. I’ve tasted and  know the Lord is faithful and good. I take refuge in Him and am blessed beyond measure. I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:4.

The Lord redeems the life of His servants; none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned.  Psalm 34:22.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear Him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.  Psalm 34:8-10.
