May 10, 2021 – I Thessalonians 5:8-9, 11.
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. I Thessalonians 5:8-9, 11.
Belonging to the day, means belonging to Jesus, for Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12. God made us for salvation in Jesus, and not for anger. He created us to encourage one another. This cannot happen while anger and resentment hides in our hearts, and shows in our faces.
Who deserves our good? Everyone. See to do good to one another and to everyone. Can you tell the difference between God’s commands and suggestions for a ‘how to’ list? Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances.
Oh, Lord, my God, may I rejoice, pray always and give You thanks. Help me to ask, What is it You want me to learn in all circumstances? I pray in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
May my life consider only pleasing You by following Your Will. I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart. Psalm 40:8.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. I Thessalonians 5:15-18.
