April 6, 2021 – Reflection on Easter’s “Destiny, Purpose, and Reason.”
This time of the year, celebrating the Resurrection, we contemplate three words. Destiny, Purpose, and The Reason.
The Destiny of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, The Purpose of the Birth, Death, and Resurrection. God’s Purpose in uniting us in Love. The Reason putting our Redemption and Eternal Inheritance into place.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Him, things in heaven and things on earth. Ephesians 1:7-10.
When Jesus, God’s Son put on flesh, Angels announced His Birth to the Shepherds in the field: And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:10-12.
Isaiah began his ministry in 740s BC. This is when he prophesied about the birth of Jesus, born between 6 and 4 BC. Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14.
Later in Isaiah 53, Isaiah prophesied these words, But he was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed. Verse 5.
Jesus Christ’s Destiny is our Savior Who providse the healing from our sin.
Jesus would go from the Chaos of the Cross to the Tomb, and from there, on the third day, our God raised His Son to a new Life. And the lyrics declare, The Resurrected King is Resurrecting me.
What was God’s Purpose for Jesus to come to earth? To teach us how to love, giving from our heart. Jesus taught, “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.” John 15:12-14.
When we can’t earn love or buy love, love is authentic. When Love is freely given because of the momentum of Love God has built in our hearts for others, there is one true statement. “You are my friends if you do what I command you.”
How important is true love? “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.” I Corinthians 13:1-3.
Love will not grow unless it contains an important ingredient. With so many reasons the world gives us to be offended, we have forgotten how Jesus taught us to pray and forgive others. It is a yay or nay point. We cannot draw our self-righteousness around us, without considering this point.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:11-15.
There is a brief verse in Romans that tells it like it is… For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. Romans 3:22b-25.
What is God’s reason for the Destiny of Jesus and teaching us How to Love?
His reason is you and me, and all those who have come before, and the generations who come after us. When we learn to hunger and thirst for righteousness and teach our children to follow truth and love, we will find the wondrous gifts of the Holy Spirit, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. (Galatians 5:22).
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” Matthew 5:6.
In what ways can we praise the Lord for His Great Goodness, for creating us for to receive His Goodness?
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose Voice is not heard. Psalm 19:1-3.
But the righteous shall be glad; they shall exult before God; they shall be jubilant with joy! Sing to God, sing praises to His name; lift up a song to Him who rides through the deserts; His name is the Lord; exult before Him! Psalm 68:3-4.
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations . For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.” Psalm 89:1-2.
Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 108:2-4.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9.
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25.
