March 29, 2021 – Colossians 3:12-13
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. Colossians 3:12-13.
Dress up your soul with righteousness and holiness by choosing these attitudes, pleasing to God – compassion, humility, meekness, patience and forgiving each other. Put on means choosing to be God’s chosen ones. We are holy and beloved.
God chose Jesus, And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to Him!” Luke 9:35. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. I John 4:4.
Jesus taught his Disciples how to pray, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12.
How is it possible to forgive those who choose to divide us and do us harm? It is when we follow the two greatest commandments. And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39.
Dear God of Love – teach me to love You, and help me to bind up the life You give me into perfect harmony of a new song of praise and adoration. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name; tell of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples! Psalm 96:2-3.
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14.
