February 25, 2021 – I John 3:31

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be, has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure.  I John 3:1-3.

Oh, the extravagant love of our Father in Heaven, reminds me of the lyrics, The way that He Loves is so thrilling because His love reaches, even me. (Mercer).  The world does not know Jesus. When Jesus comes, we will see Him as He is and we will be called children of God.

When we hunger and thirst for God’s righteousness we are like the the deer – As a deer pants for flowing streams,so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.  Psalm 42:1-2. 

How can this be?  It is when we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ. love one another, and keep His commandments,

Dear Father in Heaven, turn my eyes and my heart toward your Son Jesus. Teach me to love extravagantly as You Love, I pray in the Name of Jesus.  Amen.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.  John 15:9.

And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as He has commanded us. Whoever keeps His commandments abides in God, and God in Him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.  I John 3:23-24.
