February 18, 2021 – Galatians 5:13-14

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1.  What is it that captures us in this world? Being captured by the tyranny of Sin.

It is when we use our freedom in the ways of loving others, we find true release from Sin. Our hands are free to serve others in many ways that brings love, joy, and peace through goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control.  We lose the desire to think only about ourselves and our desires.

O, Lord, my God, free me from the envy and the desire to provoke others.  Help me to love others by serving them in all your ways. May the peace of God guard my heart and mind. I pray in the Name of Jesus.  Amen.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.  Philippians 4:8.

As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.  My soul thirsts for God,  for the living God. Psalm 42:1-2a.  In Jesus, the bread of life, we shall not hunger; when we believe in Him, we will never thirst. (John 6:35)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-25.
