December 3, 2020 – Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Ephesians 5:1-2.

As children imitate their Father, so we are to imitate our Father in Heaven.  The Son of God, Jesus Christ, came to this earth so that we may know how to be beloved children. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 19:14.

We are to walk in love as Christ loved us, and gave Himself up for us as a blood sacrifice.  Through His sacrifice our sins are forgiven. This is one source of our peace.  Another source is the constant  understanding that because Our Father God created us, we belong to Him — heart and soul and mind.

Knowing God placed the countless stars in space, helps us to know His Great Power.  Each time we see a star, our faith grow in Him leaps forward.  Knowing our God controls the universe and has ultimate power over each of us creates Joy.

O Lord, my God, help me to study your Word and sing praise to You, and give You thanks always. Hold me close and help me to patiently wait for the second coming of Jesus.  In His Name I pray. Amen.

When we are called to serve God by loving others… help us to walk in His love and answer His call with the same humility as Mary. “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38.

Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:18b-21.
