November 4, 2020 – I Peter 1:3-5
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. I Peter 1:3-5.
Our God of Mercy and unending Love, has given us an eternal inheritance. This gift is a living hope, paid for through the death of God’s Son on the Cross, and buried in a tomb. The tomb could not hold Him, for He rose again.
This living hope is God’s Power for Salvation and is guarded for us. Even through the hard times on earth, we have this reason for rejoicing. We love Jesus, though we do not see Him, we believe. Our faith in Him brings us the joy of His Love and sacrifice. Each breath we take reminds us of our Joyous Hope in Him.
Dear Lord in Heaven, help me to prepare my mind and heart to live for Him. Help me to be holy, for He is Holy. I live in reverence and awe of the One Who gives us life. In His Name, I pray, Amen.
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. I Peter 1:6-9.
