October 28, 2020 – James 1:12-14

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and He Himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. James 1:12-14.

Steadfastness and faithfulness are the building blocks to receiving eternal life.   Sin comes when we follow our own desires. Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. Galatians 6:7.

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”  John 6:35.  When we delight in righteousness, we filled with the bread of life. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”  Matthew 5:6.

The most perfect gift from God is the assurance of being a loved and forgiven Child of God.

O, Lord, of my Salvation, guide me along the paths of righteousness each day.  Help me to hunger for Your Goodness all the days of my life.  Strengthen my Faith in You, each day. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night. Psalm 92:1-2.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. James 1:16-18.
