October 20, 2020 – Exodus 3:13-14
Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And He said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” Exodus 3:13-14.
What is in a name? Many years ago, my Dad said, “I don’t have much to give you, except my good name.” God told Moses His name is I Am and I Am sends you. His goodness speaks for Him, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The I Am will be remembered throughout all generations, through His Son Jesus, who declares I Am the bread of life, I Am the Light of the world, I Am the Door, I Am the Shepherd, and I Am the Resurrection and the Life. I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Dear I Am, may I believe in your Son, Jesus, the fulfillment of the I Am, the God of the universe. He blesses us with His Love, Joy and Peace. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“As I live,” says the Lord, “every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Romans 14:11.
His glory is great through your salvation; splendor and majesty you bestow on him. For you make him most blessed forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence. Psalm 21:5-6.
God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.’ This is my name forever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.” Exodus 3:15.
