October 2, 2020 – Job 38:4-7
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you have understanding. Who determined its measurements—surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it? On what were its bases sunk, or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:4-7.
Job lost his wealth and his family, and his ‘friends’ tried to counsel him. Then God spoke to Job.
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said: “Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Dress for action like a man; I will question you, and you make it known to me. “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Job 38:1-3.
And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. Genesis 1:16. He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Psalm 147:4.
When we see the stars in the Heavens, we understand our Awe of Worship. When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:3-4.
Dear Creator of Light, guide me to your greatness, as I stand in awe of you. I cannot count your blessings, but as the Star guided the Wise Men to the Baby Jesus, may I follow the Creator of Light. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
“Can you bind the chains of the Pleiades or loose the cords of Orion? Can you lead forth the Mazzaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth?” Job 38:31-38.
