The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. Psalm 16:5-6When Mom moved from Watonga to Rogers, it was difficult for her. Someone told me that my brothers had the stuff Mom owned, and I got Mom. How precious an inheritance ‘having Mom’ became and still is. It was no longer Mother and Daughter, but became sisters in Christ.Last night in Bible Study, Inheritance, built on the scripture above, that Mom used for her book on her family became alive. After reading the scripture following, and seeing the pronoun HIS, I wept, I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints Ephesians 16 – 19Not only do I count Jesus as my portion, eternal life through the grace of Jesus, but the insignificance of me – is – HIS GLORIOUS INHERITANCE. What a difference that makes in what I choose to do each day, the path becomes easier. I no longer do things for myself, but I do them because I wish to protect God’s inheritance by nurturing His truth in my heart, loving Him with all my heart without doubt, and letting His light shine forth in all I think, do and am. Praise the Lord! YES!
