November 18, 2016 – 2 Corinthians 12:9
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 2 Corinthians 12:9It was 1936, when I was seven years old. I woke up from another dream and began crying. I had seen the pictures of the menacing war. The four darkened windows of my bedroom held imaginary horrors for me. Then Daddy came. He took me by the hand and we walked outside in the darkness. The fears disappeared. I trusted my Daddy. When my hero, my Daddy, died, I remember telling God – now You are my Hero and I will hold on to your Hand and trust You, as we walk together through this life of mine.Though some call me strong, I know that I am weak. I hold on tight to God’s Hand. He is my strength, He leads me and guides me. For when I am weak, then I am strong. When I was a child, Daddy faced my fears with me, No matter how dark the hour, With Daddy, the next step I could see….. When I grew up, Daddy placed my heart in God’s care, Daddy’s example each day, For the future he helped me to prepare…. And now God, my Father, Stands with me day by day. Daddy died many years ago, He is home with my Heavenly Father, to stay. (written after the death of my Daddy)Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalm 23:4That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10
