October 10, 2016 – Romans 5:11
So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Romans 5:11Our relationship with God, because of the Lord Jesus Christ, becomes altogether new each day. We become friends of God. Last night I witnessed the baptism in the Name of God the Father, Christ Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit, for more than 20 people became friends of God. The words of a song resonated – Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. I can feel God’s mighty power and God’s grace. I can hear the brush of angel’s wings, I see glory on each face. Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place. (Lanny Wolfe)No words can describe the completeness and joy of being a friend of God – the freedom from fear. A friendship with God built on pure love, forgiveness and our adoration. The assurance of his continued presence comforts and protects. This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. John 15:12-14You walk beside me in sorrow and gladness, guiding my steps. You protect me and comfort me! All I can do is praise you…Great Are you Lord, You give life, You are love…It’s Your breath in our lungs, So we pour out our praise to You only…(all our sons and daughters) Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalm 23:4
