Now and Forever!
As a child, I memorized Psalm 121. I knew little about the size of hills or mountains then. It took much longer for my heart to follow with the understanding of the awe of our Lord God described in these few verses. I attended a Christian Camp in the mountains of Colorado while in college. I understood the greatness of the mountains after this experience. They are more than beautiful scenes to drive by.
When it becomes dark outside, I am ready to sleep. I look for the stars and the moon to bid good night. I search the skies and try to count the stars I can see. I know there are more than I will ever see. Just as my Mom chose the Evening Star each evening, to thank God for His blessings, I now praise God for His goodness and count the ways God provides.
My heart races with wonder and awe at the endless firmament and the stars God created in the heavens. It seems I can see into the Forever as I praise Him. He knows the name of each star, and I know His Presence is with me. He holds me in His arms, from the beginning of time. He is always with me for I am His Child. He never sleeps at all.
Sometimes I wonder how much He loves me? How much does He care? Then I read Isaiah 49:16a – “See, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. Then I read, “You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.” Psalm 139:2-4.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.” Psalm 139:2-4.
The ‘whispers of fear’ of the Evil One try to drag me away from the joy I experience in the Name of the Lord. How good it is to know I can live fearlessly in this life. I will place my trust in You and hold fast to Your Hand.
Isaiah 9:6 – “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And He will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Jesus is ONE-derful for all He has done to save me. His Goodness, His Works, His Inheritance, His Promises, His Joy, His Light, His Grace, His Revelations, His Message, His Encouragement, His Miracles, and His Blessings fill me with thanksgiving. How great You are! How ONE-derful!
Carrie Breck wrote these lyrics – Face to face I shall behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky, Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!
Psalm 121:1-9 – I look up to the mountains—does my help come from there? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
Now and Forever
I look into the forever
I look into His face
He is my help
In All His Ways.
He doesn’t let me stumble
He doesn’t let me fall
Always He watches
And doesn’t sleep at all.
The Lord is my shade
At His right hand,
I do not fear
For He is always near.
He engraves my name
On the palm of His hand,
The sun shall not blind me
In the moonlight, He sings over me.
Forever – Forever!
God watches over me.
Forever – Forever!
Farther than I can see.
Forever – Forever!
Now, and for an eternity!
