Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.
6 The land you have given me is a pleasant land.
What a wonderful inheritance! Psalm 16:5-6“My thanksgiving is endless as I face my 85th year. Yet I trust in God with a thinking mind and good health. Whatever this year may hold, I pray God gives me grace to walk serenely in faith. That prayer gives me joy and balance.”Thank you, Mom, for your words. So often I find a bit of me cloaked in your covering of Momma-hood. Remember when we spoke for a ladies’ meet about growing old. You asked me how old I felt. I said, 16. When I asked you how old you felt. Your answer surprised me — 16. There we were giggling like teenagers at 83 and 57 years old. Thank you for that.I know what made you seem young although you were ‘up there’. It is your hope and faith in God. It never wavered — you lived always in the same direction, as your grandson wrote on my birthday card this year. Zig-zagging through life makes one miss ” the pleasant land of wonderful inheritance‘.Living with one foot in heaven and one foot on the earth – is a balance that is achieved with trusting in God. Just as your Mother before you, my prayer is the same, that all our blessed children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and beyond will meet us in heaven for the best reunion ever.Today – appointment with dentist for Dad, Facetime with Clare Sun and beginning new Bible Studyat Windsor Road Christian Church.
