And it is the day after a glorious 85th birthday. Today Grandpa Ed doesn’t remember who was here, what we ate, or how he sang “Happy Birthday” to me. He asked if he would get better. “Just have to live with it, huh?”There were 150 electronic messages for Happy Birthday….from family, former students and church family from various places. So enjoyed the Combs family picture with ‘Errrr Grosmom” (Anna Suderman) Tim remembers her very well. Thank you, Cousin Karen Penner! Then my computer was acting up. I wondered what it was, something came on…I clicked the accept button, and there was Zach, Allen and Aimee at the church office in a staff meeting, singing Happy Birthday to me. Wow. I loved that. Won’t soon forget.Today I wrote about Grace. The more I think about Grace the bigger it becomes. It is like, where was I when I first heard the word Grace. Seems like thinks are becoming more clear, the older I get. Last night Tim and I visited. He really gave me a lot to think about — and lives a grace-filled life. Feels odd when my children teach me, yet all of them do — teach me. That is the blessing of children. Like the sentence Tim wrote in the birthday card….’Hope your birthday is filled with the joy of a long journey in the same direction.” Thanks, JD for taking my picture.Mom, you mentioned in your journal that she expected to have just 5 more years when she became 85…becomes of her ancestry. She exceeded that by one more year. (1998). Odd, I am telling people I want things to come out even….because I just have 5 more years left. The time goes by so quickly. Now I am thinking about the copy of ERRRR Grosmom’s Journal….The verses that clears Grace for me is this more….For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.Titus 2:11-14It has never been about us. It is all about Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit.
