Why Worship?

The day filled with busyness and
frustration. How could I recover from the day?  I drive to church to
attend the Worship Service.
I listened to the beginning of the
service as we sang, “You are Alpha and Omega, We worship You, our Lord, You
are worthy to be praised.
”
Genesis 1:1– In the beginning,
God created the heavens and the earth.
God is the First and the Last,
He has power over all His creation.  This is the first reason I
worship Him.  There are sixty-six book in the Bible, God’s Word.
Each book guides my worship Him. My story is still being lived on earth. Will I
trust in God and be faithful to Him in the way I live each day?

O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you are,
O Lord, with your faithfulness all around you?  You
rule the raging of the sea; when its waves rise, you still them
. Psalm
89:8-9.

Generation after generation will decide what they will do with God. The Wonders
of God continue through our lifetime and beyond. Do we have the eyes to see and
the ears to hear?  When we realize the Glory of God, we rejoice and
continue in thunderous praise and worship of our God, the One who saves!

Then I hear the words, “You unravel me with a melody and surround me with a
song of deliverance.”
Tears of joy fill my eyes and I know I worship
Him only.  The Hallelujahs pour forth and by heart quivers with joy in
your continuous love. Fear of what might be is no more.  I sing the
words, “I’m no longer a slave to
fear, I am a child of God, I’m no longer a slave to fear, I am a child of
God.”
There is no fear in love,
but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and
whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
 I John 4: 18.
When we set our hearts on You, You move
the mountains, and our sins You forgive. Worship in this Gathering with
those around me renews our spirits.  But you, O Lord, are a
shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.  I cried
aloud to the Lord, and He answered me from his holy hill.

Psalm 4:3-4.

Echoes of the Glory of God displayed when
God delivered the Children of Israel from sure death from the hands of the
Egyptian soldiers set my heart racing.   “You split the sea, So I could walk right through it, my
fears were drowned in perfect love, You rescued me and I stand and sing, I am
a child of God!”

The
steadfast love of the
Lord never
ceases;

His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my
soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”
Lamentations
3:22-24.
         For
you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,

abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon
you.

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace.
Psalm 86:5-6.
We worship You for who You are.  You are Good!”
         A season of prayer
replaced the music.  We come to the Lord praising Him for his
goodness and glory.  Thanksgiving for our Lord God who cares for us and
sent His Son to earth to redeem us from sin.  God loves us so much, and
His one desire is to save us from sin slavery.
         God
taught Noah to build the ark to save the righteous on earth.  He made a
covenant with Abraham.
And he brought him outside and said,
“Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number
them.” Then He said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And he
believed the Lord, and He counted it to him as righteousness.
Genesis
15:5-6.  Moses led the children of Israel from slavery in Egypt to
the promised land after a long journey.  And Jesus provides salvation
from the slavery of sin in this world. “Lord You are good and Your mercy
endureth forever. People from every nation and tongue, from generation to
generation. We worship You for who You are.”

As I left the Worship Service, the frustrations of the day are no
more.  My soul and faith again renewed and refreshed.  I
lift my eyes to the clouds God created, looking for the stars Abraham saw so
long ago. In my heart, I hear the words being sung, “Our Father Which art in
Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. They kingdom come. They will be done. On earth,
as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our
debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us
from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, And the power, And the glory,
forever.  Amen
.”

Blessed be the Lord! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for
mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my
heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with
my song, I give thanks to Him. The Lord is the strength of His
people; He is the saving refuge of His anointed. Oh, save your people and
bless your heritage! Be their shepherd and carry them forever
.
Psalm 28:6-9.
