September 10, 2020 – Psalm 37:5-7
Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Psalm 37:5-7.
Committing to the Lord is walking with Him. It is living His way and in His will. It is knowing that following the Lord is knowing that all impossible things are possible through our Lord God.
There are so many times when we are drawn toward doing everything ‘our way’. We try to be our own person instead of waiting patiently for God’s Leading. “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10.
I draw confidence and peace from John 14:1 – “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” Why be anxious when we understand how God loves us? We love because He first loved us. I John 4:19.
Dear Precious Redeemer, help us to look to You for guidance, and know all good things come from You. Help us to delight in Your Way and Your Word. Help us to hold tightly to Your Hand, knowing You will never let us go. Help us to love like You love. In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
Help my song be, Take my hand, precious Lord, And lead me home. (Dorsey).
The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. Psalm 37:39.
The steps of a man are established by the Lord when he delights in His way; though he falls, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand. Psalm 37:23-24.
