September 9, 2020 – Psalm 32:6-7

Therefore let everyone who is godly offer prayer to You at a time when You may be found; surely in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach Him. You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance. Psalm 32:6-7.

Our Lord is a hiding place from trouble.  In the cleft of the Rock we hide. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadow a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love, and covers me there with His Hand.  (Fanny Crosby).

He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. Psalm 62:2. The Lord lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God of my salvation.  Psalm 18:46.

Blessed Rock of my Salvation, Hide me from the Evil One who tempts me.  Help me to hunger and thirst for Your Righteous and Holy Way. Help me to know always that the Lord is God, and there is no other and follow only after You…my Rock and Redeemer, I pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

But I have trusted in your steadfast love; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. I will sing to the Lord,
because He has dealt bountifully with me.  Psalm 13:5-6.

Jesus gives us rest for our souls. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  Matthew 11:28-29.

Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the Lord. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart! Psalm 32:10-11.       (Photo from Nancy Menhennett)
