August 26, 2020 – Isaiah 58:1-2
“Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins. Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.” Isaiah 58:1-2.
How often we are of two minds, and seek the Lord, and yet parts of our heart continue in sin. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. James 1:7-8.
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:9-10.
Our Father in Heaven, give me strength and courage to trust in You, and do good. Help me to delight in your righteousness and follow You in Your Way. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart. I Peter 1:22. Our salvation is from the Lord, and we find refuge in Him only. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised!
“If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly; then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 58:13-14.
