June 10, 2016 – John 12:45-47
For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. John 12:45-47These are the Words of Jesus. And it is easy to understand. When we read His Words, obey Him, love Him, live like Jesus, we are seeing, knowing, loving, living as God wants us to live. God is blessed.God spoke at the baptism of Jesus. What can we learn about Jesus in Matthew 3:16-17? After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”Jesus is the saving light that God Himself sent into the world. Jesus came into the world to save us from our sin, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). In this, there is equality – all means all.Basking in God’s presence, is not a day on the beach, it is thinking of others, how we can serve others. It is thinking of others, rather than ourselves. It is purposely loving, practicing patience with deeds of kindness, goodness and gentleness. That is when you know the presence of God through love, joy and peace. It is as joyous as giving a hug, not because of the hug you get back. “What’s in it for me,” never enters your head, just serving because you love Jesus. The most precious moments, ever, for me is listening to God’s people worshiping Him with melodic praises and prayers from the heart and learning more about Jesus, all in the light of His Presence. Glory to His name. Oh, to be more like Jesus.Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness. Psalm 89:15-16
