August 3, 2020 – Psalm 119:10-12

With my whole heart I seek You; let me not wander from Your commandments! I have stored up Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You. Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119:10-12.

How is it possible to live pure and holy day by day?  What gives us the strength to not be drawn into sinful lives, of hate and lies?  What keeps me from straying from Truth and Righteousness?

A commandment from God is to be obeyed. It is not a suggestion for our lives, but a law to follow. Which will we choose to delight in, world’s temporary pleasures or in obedience, remembering always God’s plan for our lives?

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. I John 3:1a. Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the Son of God, who came to earth to pay for the forgiveness of our sins on the cross.

Beginning each day in God’s Word brings us Hope and Joy for each new day. The words of a song tells us of a constant ‘turning’ to Jesus. Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. (Winebarger, Trout, Romancce, Stiff).

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act.  Psalm 37:4-5.

With my lips, I declare all the rules of your mouth. In the way of your testimonies, I delight as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. Psalm 119:13-15.
