July 13, 2020 – John 1:1-3

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made. John 1:1-3.

In the beginning God — In the beginning was the Word. Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 begin the same way — In the beginning… Logos  is another way of saying Word. But it is only a part of the meaning.

When we say word, we mean a word with letters that expresses a finite meaning.  When we hear the Voice speaking, we hear the intonation that is recognizable. How was the world created?  By the Voice. It is the act of speaking that bridges the gap between the listener and the speaker. In Jesus, God speaks and reveals Himself to the world.

Audible Words shaped the entire cosmos of the world or universe in a complete, orderly, and harmonious system.  In Jesus is Life…and in this Life is the light of men. An understanding of eternal joy. God himself put eternity into man’s heart. (Ecclesiastes 3:11b)

When we reflect the goodness of Jesus with His Love, Joy, and Peace, darkness cannot overcome His glory. Let us be pleasing to Him.

Oh, Loving Father, Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10). Help me to walk in your footsteps and let your light shine through me, so it brings glory to your Father who is in heaven.  I pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people, to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Psalm 85:8.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  John 1:4-5.
