May 20, 2016 – Psalm 57:8-9

Psalm57-8-9Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. Psalm 57:8-9Wake up!  As we grow older, the act of waking up becomes more difficult.  Gone is the exuberance of youth and a physical response to the dawn as we jump into activities of the day.  With age, the dawn means waking up the heart.  We contemplate and consider the dawn and Who gave us each new dawn with a song of praise.  Each dawn is a new beginning filled His Mercies.  And our thankfulness for the new day to thank the Lord for His Goodness.Among all people and all nations, we sing of your Greatness and Power.  The harmony and grace of our Praise encourages others to learn of your unfailing love.  Unfailing love that is as high as the heavens.   Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds high above us that bring us showers of blessings!Look up into the heavens. Who created all the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of his great power and incomparable strength, not a single one is missing.  Isaiah 40:26. God, the Lord, created the heavens and stretched them out. He created the earth and everything in it. He gives breath to everyone, life to everyone who walks the earth. Isaiah 42:5.We exalt you, O God!  May your glory shine over all the earth and penetrate our hearts at each dawn! The words of the Hymn, How Great Thou Art, sings in my mind…O Lord, my God, when I in awesome wonder…Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth. Psalm 57:10-11
