May 16, 2016 – Jude 1:19-20
But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. In today’s world, ‘building ourselves up’ means physically. Have we forgotten, that there is a spiritual building, too? This building exercises the muscles of faith and keeps us in the love of God. There is a time limit on physical activity, but the spiritual muscles of faith and love are forever. We measure physical prowess by the scales, tape measure or other means. However spiritual muscles are measured by faith that can move mountains and trust that has no bounds. There are side effects that comes from believing and trusting God that increases the power of the Lord in our lives. These side effects are called – Love, Joy, Peace Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self-Control.Man often tries to give us what they think we need for a price, but they leave out Jesus, who has already paid the price. Man ignores the greatest gift from God – the gift of Grace through the sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus Christ who came to this earth to save us from our sins. Jesus, who promises to return to this earth, to gather those who Love Him. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:3.Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1:24-25
