February 6, 2020 – Psalm 119:1-4
Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong, but walk in His ways! You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. Psalm 119:1-4.
How can we remain pure? How can we be holy? Only by living according to Your Word. A clear conscience is purity through obedience. Rules for baking a cake, are called recipes. Rules for making a bird house, are called directions. Rules we follow to drive a car, are called laws.
When we follow the laws of God, we find the way to happiness, or blessedness. We may hide our unwillingness to obey our parents for a time, but we cannot hide disobedience from our Lord. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Colossians 3:20.
Who is God? “I delight to do your will, O my God, your law is within my heart.” Psalm 40:8. For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm! Psalm 47:9. O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek you, my soul thirsts for You, my flesh faints for You, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water. Psalm 63:1. Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, belong deliverances from death. Psalm 68:29. Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His, we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:3. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17.
Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! I will praise you with an upright heart when I learn your righteous rules. I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me! Psalm 119:5, 7-8.
