February 10, 2016 – 1 Timothy 2:3-5

1Timothy2-3-5This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. 1 Timothy 2:3-5There is one God and there are many gods proclaimed by many men.  There is only one Mediator who brings peace between God and man and purchased freedom in love on the cross for each of us.  When we are at peace with God – we love one another which is the base of all peace and funity.Just Who is this Christ Jesus who is such a mystery?  Jesus Christ was revealed in a human body, vindicated by the Holy Spirit, seen by angels who announced Him to the nations.  He was believed throughout the entire world, though his ministry was only three years.  He was taken to heaven in glory to sit on the right hand of His Father God.Last night I read Practicing the Presence of God, by Brother Andrew who joined a monastery.  His life was spent working in the kitchen and mending the sandals of his brothers.  He learned that experiencing a relationship with God can happen anywhere.  One quote from his book on the nearness of God is: “You need not cry very loud: He is nearer to us than we think.Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins.  Everyone who believes in him is declared right with God—something the law of Moses could never do.” Acts 13:38-39Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory. 1 Timothy 3:16
