January 15, 2020 – Colossians 3:1-4
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is Your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4.
Christ Jesus is of first importance in this life and the life yet to come. He is the Creator, Sustainer and Redeemer of all Creations. There is no other to worship including earthly imputes as anger, spite, slander and abusive language.
The key to remaining unified is to show compassion and forgiveness toward one another. And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. It is the second commandment Jesus gives us that shows compassion and forgiveness. Matthew 22:39. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
How can this be? We are set apart to dress in the holy way of life of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, adding forgiveness. All this is tied together in love. Do all in the name of Jesus, giving God our Father thanks through Jesus. The ways of Jesus must become our ways in this life.
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:12-14.
