January 14, 2019 – Isaiah 26:2-4
Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:2-4.
Remember when you learned that throwing rocks hurts others? Growing up in Oklahoma, we found red rocks we could lift. But seeing a rock of the size pictured were rare. A rock is impenetrable and strong. God is a forever rock, steady and huge.
He keeps us in perfect peace when our mind is focused on Him. We trust in Him and His steadfast love. Everywhere we turn, we are in awe His righteousness and His deeds. When we follow His laws and live righteously, our pathway in life is not tedious. it is straight and smooth.
We remember your ways and eager to hear Your holy name. As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? Psalm 42:1-2.
We do not go ahead of God, but wait for Him, for He will lead us. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Psalm 37:4-7.
The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous. In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; Your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul. Isaiah 26:7-8.
