January 8, 2020 – Psalm 111:2-4
Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them. Full of splendor and majesty is His work, and His righteousness endures forever. He has caused His wondrous works to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and merciful. Psalm 111:2-4.
Have you ever puzzled about how a river gets its water? Or wondered how the first bird learned to fly? Or who painted the sky blue?
Now read the first phrase again, Great are the works of the Lord! It is when we studies the complexity of all that makes up bird, do we grasp the miracle of a bird defying gravity when it flies.
Have you ever tried to be good? As a girl, our model T Ford lurched back and forth on the muddy road. I remember praying, God if you just get us to Grandma’s, I’ll be good for a week. I realized it would impossible, I lowered my sights to being good one day.
Our awesome God sent redemption to His people to make a covenant, an agreement through Jesus. When we understand and respect God’s greatness, wisdom begins to grow in our hearts. We learn to depend on Him for understanding and the beginnings of wisdom. But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Psalm 86:15.
God placed the beauty of our surroundings, from the tiniest flower to the tallest trees, majestic mountains, flowing seas, to highest stars all for our wonder and reminder of our Great God! He loves you and me. Listen to His Word!
He sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever. Holy and awesome is His name! The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever! Psalm 111:9-10.
