October 22, 2019 – Colossians 3:14-16
And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Colossians 3:14-16.
There is nothing so unwelcome to our ears as two musical instruments playing in two different keys. Two people unable to live in the perfect harmony of love grates on their hearts. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:6.
Let the word of Christ dwell in us, is how we learn to know the peace of Jesus and let His joy come in and stay in our hearts. It brings wisdom and singing with thankfulness into our hearts. And we begin singing the song, “I have the joy, joy, joy, deep in my heart!”
Jeremiah wrote, ‘Ah, Lord God! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.’ Jeremiah 32:17. We want our way. Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the Lord. Psalm 107:43.
What does this prayer mean to you? “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9-10.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17.
