October 8, 2019 – Isaiah 52:7-8
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings the good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice; together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they see the return of the Lord to Zion. Isaiah 52:7-8.
Have you looked at your feet lately? Would you consider them beautiful? It depends upon which path we choose to walk on. The chosen Children of Israel were often in captivity. to Egypt, Babylon, and Assyria. Verse 6 – “Therefore my people shall know my name. Therefore in that day they shall know that it is I who speak; here I am.” It is our Lord who releases us from captivity of others when we choose to become God’s People through and through.
Being in captivity to evil, God brought us Jesus with no sin to redeem us, when we choose our way with Him alone. Moses told the Children of Israel as death seemed imminent, And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Exodus 14:13-14.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted His people; He has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has bared His holy arm before the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. Isaiah 52:9-10.
