September 7, 2019 – Psalm 105:1-4
Oh, give thanks to the Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually! Psalm 105:1-4.
How often our strength ends. We don’t know where to turn. We go to the Source of All Strength. These words, Seek the Lord and His Strength, not just once, but continually.
The ways God blesses those who seek the Lord, gives us reason to Rejoice. From Joseph to Moses, God has a plan made plain in this Psalm and He remembers His Promise to Abraham. He gives them food and water, and protects the Children of Israel. When we trust Him, as His children, He protects us and guides us.
The next Psalm continues, Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good,
for His steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 106:1. Love endures Forever. God’s forever is an eternity. Much longer than Man’s ‘forever.’
Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to Your holy name and glory in Your praise. Psalm 106:47. We ask God to save us, over and over. We forget Him when all is well. Only to turn again, when we are in need.
You guide me with your counsel, and afterward You will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You. Psalm 73:24-25.
So He brought His people out with joy, His chosen ones with singing. And He gave them the lands of the nations, and they took possession of the fruit of the peoples’ toil, that they might keep His statutes and observe His laws. Praise the Lord! Psalm 105:43-45.
