October 28, 2015 – Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10These verses tell us who we are even before we were born. By Grace we have been saved, when we believe in Jesus. It is a gift. It is not tied up in a red fabric bow, but the red blood of Christ, shed on the cross to make this Grace reality. It isn’t something we do for God, but what God gives to us. No one has reason to brag about what we do for Him. God just wants us.We are the work of His Hands. It isn’t any wonder that when we see the innocence of a small baby in our arms, we are overcome by love? That baby was made by God Himself. Why are we made? So we can do the things He has prepared for us — to bring glory to God.Our Lord God does far more than we can conceive with our minds – according to the power of the Holy Spirit that works within us. Letting the Spirit have full reign in hearts and minds and that is glory! Not for ourselves, but for Jehovah Lord God and Christ Jesus. We all have different gifts and works God has purposed. Can we fathom the heights of God’s thoughts and abilities? No. He can do far more than we can ask or think. Are we aware of the power of the Spirit at work in our hearts and souls? Will it be here today and gone tomorrow? No. This work is glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations….forever! It all comes back to love! God is love and He loves us. Jesus is his Son and He beckons us to follow Him to Hos glory. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. — Ephesians 3:20-21
