June 4, 2019 – 2 Timothy 2:8-10

Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, the offspring of David, as preached in my gospel, for which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the Word of God is not bound! Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.  2 Timothy 2:8-10.

How long will we remember Jesus Christ? When we are separated from a loved one on this earth through distance or death, how often will we remember this person? Depends on how much we love this person, and how often we spent time building sweet memories. 

Remembering is re-living the special moments we spend with Jesus.  Though Paul was bound in chains for preaching Christ, the Word of God cannot be bound. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. Hebrews 4:12a.

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. Psalm 119:103-104. 

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.

I rejoice in the Words of our Lord, for they give comfort and joy each day as the sun rises, and as I close my eyes in sleep. O Lord God of hosts,
 who is mighty as you are, O Lord, with your faithfulness all around You?  Psalm 89:8.  

The Lord lives, and blessed be my Rock, and exalted be the God of my Salvation. Psalm 18:46.  You guide me with your counsel, and afterward You will receive me to glory. Psalm 73:24. 

The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; if we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny himself.  2 Timothy 2:11.
