September 16, 2015 – Matthew 28:18-20

Matthew28-18-20Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20These last two verses say it all.  Jesus has all authority in Heaven and on Earth. And in his authority he says Go – make them disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach them to obey all the commands I have given to love, forgive, be merciful and faithful, patient and self-controlled.How many times does the scripture say ‘fear not’?  We are not to fear anything…why?  His last words, ‘For I am with you to the end of the age‘.Jesus has power over death and life and he is faithful and always with us – so great is His love.  When we don’t know how to pray for someone near and dear to us, Jesus loves when we leave this person in His Hands.  How much more he loves and is faithful, than we can ever, every be.Even Isaiah knew the cure for discouragement…when he wrote God’s Words — Don’t be afraid, I am with you, for I am your God.  You will know you are strengthened for He holds you up with his victorious right hand! Then it is time to do the only thing left for people who love the One and Only God — Praise Him, Adore Him, Love Him and give Him our hearts!Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
