June 26, 2015 – Palm 139:1-3

Psalm-139-1-3Lord, you have examined me and know all about me. You know when I sit down and when I get up. You know my thoughts before I think them. You know where I go and where I lie down. You know everything I do.  Psalm 139:1-3Have you ever counted how many times you get up and sit down?  God knows where I go and where I lie down.  I certainly did not know that at the age of 86 I would get up and check often, day and night, on my dear husband to make sure he is safe.  How comforting to know that God knows exactly what is going on.  That he is with me.We know what God wants us to know about Him through his Creation, his Words, and through Jesus Christ.  If you are like me, I long to know more.  And I long for others to begin the process of knowing God.  In the walk of life, when I meet a fellow believer, I give thanks.  What a lovely prayer Paul prayed…asking God to grant our fellow believers to have a spirit of wisdom and revelation so each one can know Him better.  Let that be our prayer for each other.Last night as I cared for my husband and tried to help him go to bed, he paced the floor wanting to leave for over an hour.  Finally I began praying with him and asked God to hold him in his arms.  Slowly I saw him relax.  There is strength in prayer through Jesus Christ.  A power that is beyond understanding when my husband felt God’s peace in his heart and was able to sleep. The mystery of God’s love is beyond our understanding and is ours when we choose Him. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  Ephesians 3:18I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I always remember you in my prayers, asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you will know him better. I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people. And you will know that God’s power is very great for us who believe. That power is the same as the great strength. Ephesians. 1:16-19
