November 23, 2018 -Deuteronomy 11:18-19

“So commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”
Deuteronomy 11:18-19

Can a person ration his learning from God’s Word.  It is not a once a week, slot of time labeled for God?  It takes commitment and true devotion, and love to follow these verses.

When we love — all our attention is focused toward this being or idea.  Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  Matthew 22:37-38.

This is not an ‘add-on’ to what we do or think now.  Loving God with our whole being flows from loving God. Is it any wonder, we wish to share this truth with our children this truth?  He is our Amazing Grace, and Giver of Life.

The treasure of being the Lord’s is found in His Word.  Long ago my Mother entitled her family story, The Lines Are Fallen from verse, Psalm 16:6. The land you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance!

Seeing these words, and knowing Mother penned her family’s life story from these words, even now I learn from her. She helped me choose God’s Way, so my children will flourish in the land He has given.

Verses 2, 5, 7, 8, and 11 give me words to live my.  You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.   Psalm 16:11

“Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors.”  Deuteronomy 11:20-21.
